Issues of Concern

Concern the Ethics of Life issues and combat Squarely Perverted Social Trends
is our mission. Over the years, we focus on the following areas:
Media Pollution:  The rapid development of the Internet has made it much easier for undesirable information to enter Hong Kong households and affect our next generation! Vicious competition, the use of the public media for personal purposes by proprietors, and the trend towards utter disregard for professionalism and ethics, and the self-anointing of journalists have all contributed to a steady decline in the credibility of the media, and have made the need for media monitoring and media education all the more urgent.

Spread of Gambling Activities:  In recent years, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has produced a large number of advertisements to promote betting on football and horse racing, Mark Six Lottery, and has been asking organisations receiving its sponsorship to praises and embellish its image, thus sugar-coating the harms of gambling, and fostering the pervasive speculation in society!

Homosexuality:  The homosexual movement is supported by many multinational companies. It is growing in ferocity, and the increases in same-sex marriages and same-sex adoptions around the globe is impacting the institution of marriage. This movement has been actively infiltrating school campuses and eroding the values of the younger generation. In the name of anti-discrimination, LGBT+ groups often practise reverse discrimination against those who do not support this movement.

Gender Confusion:  The global sexual revolution has been trying to change the definitions of sex, gender, sexual orientation, marriage, and family with a carrot-and-stick approach, thus putting gender relations to a severe test, causing a snowballing of family problems, and creating more confusion for teenagers already suffering from growing pains!

Ethics of Life:  Apply biblical truths to integrate theory, research and data on ethical issues of social issues, so that the public can think and discuss more openly and deeply about the way forward for the best interest of society and conforms to ethics.

Social Injustices:  While STL cannot deal with all social injustices simultaneously: gross wealth inequality, property hegemony, excessively long working hours, the corporate mentality to squeeze every penny out of every deal, the failure of government to be truly accountable to the public, the pervasiveness of verbal and physical abuse in our society, etc, we focus on the issues we identified at the founding of STL and some other issues we consider important but advocated by few.
